IDOLS IN OUR HEAD

Scripture says that we need to subjugate even our beliefs and convictions to the law of love (Rom. 13:8,10; Gal. 5:14; James 2:8), for love fulfills the law and leads to peace and mutual edification.
When opinions and preferences become more important to us than what God says is valuable to Him, we have made idols out of our own beliefs. Idolatry is a serious offense because it violates the first and most important command: “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Ex. 20:3).
my opinion is...my convictions are....my my my....this can get us in trouble.what we should be saying is Gods opinions and His convictions....thats whats important.we are filled with a me me me world.we are lead by our feelings and our thoughts.some of our feelings and thoughts are good, but lets not forget to make sure God is involved with all this.i never knew that our opinons and preferences could become idols.remember what is valuable to God and always ask Him about your decisions in life.
yesterday i was upset with my boss at the way they treat employees and i found myself having very bad thoughts of revenge.i let my FEELINGS control my thoughts.i know this was not pleasing to God.revenge is mine saith the Lord.i will let God take care of the problems at work and i will just do my job the best i can.after all...retirement is not that far away.
